Paul Reed Smith and Schecter are the only two brands I've played that I CONSISTENTLY liked.

Paul Reed Smith takes the cake for me straight out though; I've always left impressed after playing one, even the cheaper "SE" models are fantastic.

Haha, was just about to write the same things about acoustics for the same reasons you mentionned.

My absolute favorite guitar ever was:

Fernandes Revolver 55 (built in the 80's)

Followed by:

Ibanez
Fender
Gibson
Godin

I'm looking at perhaps buying a BC Rich Mockingbird, maybe a Fernandes Ravelle or Monterey high end models if I can convince myself and more importantly my wife that it would be a good investment . I doubt I'll have much success doing so though.
