A Marshall 8080. Back in that days that was a great amp for me. I had A MARSHALL wooowwwww

It was great to be a teen.....

+1 ... exactly the same for me ... tho I wasn't a teen ... I was 21.

Actually, I had a Park by Marshall G10 summat or other before, but my first 'real' or so I thought, Marshall, was the 8080...

I upgraded to a JCM2000 TSL60 Head and 1936 cab, then moved on to the JCM900 4500 head, and then sold all of it to buy the Vintage Modern 2266 head and 425 Cab... I then traded the 2266 head in for the 2400 100 Watt head a month later, and now I'm VERY happy!!!! :)

You are one lucky duck! I've got major GAS for the 100 watt Vintage Modern and the matching 425a cab. I can't afford it unless I sell my almost thirty year old JMP 2203 and matching checkerboard 1960b cab, and I know I'd kick myself if I ever let that get away. The one thing the 2203 is missing is a creamy, high gain tone for leads, and the VM has got that in spades (as well as genuine vintage Marshall tone)!

One of these days!

Say, have you posted pics of your VM?

Just got my first, JVM 410h and 1960's a cab!! phenomenal, was using modelling processors for the last while, but the shear roar of my lp standard through the jvm is unbelievable. And for the record this is actually one of the simplest amps I ever plugged into despite its appearance!!

My First Marshall Amp(s)

My first was bought last month. A new JCM 2000 DSL 50 and a 1960AV 4 x 12" cab. Also bought me a new JCM 2000 DSL 401 soon after so I wouldn't have to lug the DSL 50 and the 1960AV to rehearsals. I like them, I really, really like them.

My first Marshall was a Valvestate 30 and it sounded ok in the store but like crap everywhere else , It went right back to GC, then two years ago I had gotten a JCM 900 4500 5881, and 1960 B Cab , Was in heaven, then got a late 90s Bluesbreaker combo I had to sell , Oh well, Got my 4501 for present maybe possibly soon a JTM 30 a friend owns but I have to check out and get fixed

My First Marshall was a RED 73 100 Watt Super Lead

Here is another photo of it in full stack(the bass amp next to it
is also a Marshall bass amp twin 15" reverse horn cabs)
Yes i played bass through Marshall lead heads, i use them for the treble
side, using Y chord to a bass head for low end (for that Yes and Entwistle sound)

later on in my band life i switched back to lead guitar from bass

'68 Marshall Major
LOUD - no, LOUDER than that...
Louder than an early 70s steel panel Super Lead
Amazingly, to be so loud - very sensitive when turned up.
It had a (monsterous) tone unlike any other amp.
It also had an appetite for Celestion speakers.....

Ritchie Blackmore used Majors, i played bass through
one once it was as loud as an SVT and i can imagine
it would blow out celestions big time

Had a VS100 R combo for about 12 years. Thought it was great at bedroom levels, even better when cranked a bit and had a good variety of channels.
Have now sold it and graduated to a JTM 45 with a 1960ax cab. No pedals, no channels, no fx, just a clean channel of pure tonal bliss and an overdrive crunch when cranked that almost brings a tear to my eye..beautiful

My first amp ever was a marshall, it was a G215RCD and it was enough to put me off marshalls for years. It was only when i realised it was only crap for the type of music i wanted to play. I still have it, somewhere in the depths of this house

My first Marshall is my only Marshall and I just got it a few weeks ago. A JCM 2000 DSL 100 with a 1960 cab. I *love* this amp!! Been playing through little PTP wired ancient class A tube amps and had a real attitude about modern PCB amps. This Marshall is the most flexible amp I've ever played.

My first Marshall was a birthday present from my grandmother on my 15th birthday, way back in 2000.

The Marshall G10 MK.II. There's a story behind the tear in the covering there on the corner, but you'll have to go to the '"My first amp" story' thread to see it, saves me from posting it twice.

My first Marshall was a new 1985 5212 after coming from a Peavey Studio Pro 40. A few short years later (in 1989), I picked up a 9-month old, barely used, 4203 combo from a guy hurting for money around Christmas for $200.....I then picked up a new 1965A cabinet as a scratch-n-dent special....and it just snowballed from there. ;)
