I had a GCB-95 I modded, eventually didn't care for it too much anymore and sold it. Had an old Morley power wah/volume, sold it and bought a Morley Bad Horsie 2. Like and use it often. Also have wah built in to my modeler (Digitech), it's not bad. I got a good deal on a Slash Cry Baby, it failed, sent it to Dunlop for refurbishing, it's now like new, and hasn't been out of the box since I tried it, once I got it back from Dunlop. I heard good things about the Cantrell model, but never heard it live.

Roger Mayer Vision Wah. All kinds of sounds in this wah. Also use it like an EQ. Great foot position. 16 sweeps.

What a beautiful wah! I have wanted one for many years... Some day.

I have to say my '76 TDK Cry Baby is becoming my most used. I adjusted the sweep recently and found an perfect sweet spot to my ears. Warm, vocal and able to quack and flutter like liquid. I highly suggest if your into the vintage sound, to keep an eye out for 70s Cry Babys. I picked up both of mine for less than most new pedals.

I have the reissue Vox V847 and an original 1973 Vox King Wah. The King Wah is a little louder, and has a darker sweep. I prefer it to the reissue..

Depending on which amp I’m using, it’s either a USA Vox V847 from 20 years ago on my TSL or my Crybaby from the early 90’s with my Or-15. Also have a Hendrix Crybaby that I never really cared for but kept for some reason.

I have two that I use these days: My #1 is the Fulltone Clyde Deluxe. This one just sounds the way I hear a classic wah sound, in my head. On my "grab n go" pedalboard I have a Crybaby Classic which sounds really nice. However, the more I use it the more I realize the sweep is a bit too narrow.

In my closet is a Crybaby 535Q which is nice and a Vox reissue. Both of these need to get posted to the classified section. Not that they suck (far from it) they just don't get any use.

Lives in the Mid Range.
Wahs can suck away your tone like a vacuum if you are not absolutely certain the buffer is what you want. In which case true bypass is the way forward. They get buffered because they come first usually in the chain which is where buffers are typically located. There are many early tones though that are colored by a buffered Wah and you need it for that sound.

Got a Jen Crybaby Super, 35 or so yrs ago. White fasel, modded pot linkage to use all of pot's sweep, + hole in baseplate for linkage to bottom out thru :) Just got it out of storage now, gave it a quick spin, treated the pot and switch to some Servisol
