I've A/B'd these exact speakers (and 5 others) over and over inside of my DSL40 cab. No contest. Greenback sounded a LOT better. The Creamback isn't a Greenback. If you want to prove it like I did...order them both on Amazon (free returns) and test them yourself. The Creamback was fine and...
I've only got the DSL40 (not 100) and SV20h but nothing on it comes anywhere near Plexi territory. The DSL has a lot of tricks and is versatile (love the 6-FS) but Plexi is definitely not one of them.
I think one important area is use-case. Playing alone in your basement can often be a lot different than playing with the band. Obviously you hear and feel all the differences of a bigger amp playing it alone in a room. The best sounds the best.
But playing Live in a mix with a sound guy is...
The 1959 does that really special hum/buzz on those open power chords that the smaller amps don't do. It's very cool! But man...that amp just isn't practical for me at the moment. Someday when I'm old with money to spare. Seems like those 50w strike a nice enough balance despite not doing...
Dude...nice! So cool you got it from Brett lol.
Just curious, why double up on the 50w between the Plex and the 1987x? They should be really similar right iirc?
If I recall Marshall built this feature into the DSL. Once it detects your playing to be of a sufficient level of "Shred", the DSL power transformer cuts out and a little light on the back (like a check engine light) clicks on that says "Buy JCM800+HotMod". It's on the schematic. It's a...

Hello to all lovers of the son. I want to know how you feel about the different Marshall heads. I think there are Marshall users who are older than me and have played more heads in concert, studio, or rehearsal...
I'm not the expert with 40 years of experience but I did go through this when buying an SV. Thankfully @Gene Ballzz on here dialed me in nicely. I think it depends on what you are trying to do with it. I'd ALWAYS go Head+Cab if I could. It's much easier to pack around than a 50lb Combo amp...
Bro, how do you have no idea who Stapleton is??
They BOMBARDED us with that Tennessee Whiskey song etc etc (which is super annoying at this point...I can't even listen to it)
