Nice tone and playing! Seems like there's many great tones out of this box! Also depends on the speaker and pickups, etc.... what speaker are you using?
there you go, exact same thing for me
eq with your ears not with your eyes, more eq doesn't mean more tone, especially if you keep the master down cause the preamp is burning...
Treb to 7!! Man I can't believe it... there's so much highs on the red channel... I don't get it
Try it just for fun, back up everything on the eq and set the amp volume to 5 instead of 4.
I totally agree that at low volume (3 and lower) you need to push the eq to make the amp sing, but...
yeah but I often heard that the DSL doesn't sounds good when pushed too hard, and with my previous settings, I had to agree.... it became harsh... but with these new settings, the amp just want to be pushed and it sings! :headbanger: and it just become fatter and fatter as you increase the...
Hi guys
I'm a mid freak, I never have enough of mid punch on my tone.
So I never tried to set the mid lower than halfway (5), cause it just seems wrong to me... as I'm using lead 1, I needed the deep switch on to have a balance amount of bass, so my seeting was
presence 2-3
treble 2-3...
yeah... but I bought it 300 miles away from my house... :S
I would show the problem to another luthier tomorrow...
I think there's enough space under the string to cut the nut deeper... still piss me off
Arrrrgg!!!!
I was playing my brand new flying v (I bought it like 3 weeks ago) and bam, the high E string poped out of the nut and now there's no way to put it back! I cannot put it in the nut, and set it to pitch without poping out: WTF!?!?!??!:wtf::mad:
I'm about to destroy...
That guy may help you. He got a good slash tone out of his dsl401.
YouTube - Slash's Tone "Sweet Child O'mine Intro" with DSL 401
On his channel you can read:
----What is your settings of amp or effects?----
Low gain, High Volume, Trebles are low, Mid and Low is High. That's the...
:dude: rock on man! that's the spirit! In fact sometime I stack my cab and head vynil covers beside my real half stack, so it looks like a second half stack on the stage... haha! music is for fun after all... :laugh2:
of course! I mean for practice alone at home.
Anyway, when I walk into a small club and see a guy with a full stack (or 2) I don't think it looks cool. I just think it looks like a guy taking a space shuttle to go to the grocery store... overkill... of course if you play big stadiums or...
But a good Marshall needs to be played loud to sounds good... my 5 watts head with its 1x12 cab sounds way better for pratice than my 100 watts half stack monster... and even for a big club a 100 watts half stack is overkill in my opinion. So I can't see how you can get a good not-too-loud tone...
This my brand new V (I bought it last week!)
The only modification I made was to remove the darn tone control out of my way (I need easy access to both volumes and pickup selector. The tone is now under the pickguard set to max)
Yeah, I think you're right, this is gonna be my main axe. I'll try it live in a few days, that would be the real test.
I got it for 1200$ including taxes
First of all thank you guys for all your input. I've tried a lot of the guitars you told me to check out.
But the winner is............................................... I did it, I bought a brand new Flying V, classic white.
I finally found one that has an amazing neck (the first I tried...
