Years ago, I bought a mid 60s Traynor YBA-1 head chassis from a local on CL. It didn't have a cabinet but it had original 6CA7 Sylvania tubes and Rogers 12AX7s in it. I tried my hand at modding it to Marshall specs and failed miserably. Back then I had no idea there were actual amp techs...
Okay, hear me out. First of all, staining a guitar is super easy. Red should be avoided. Gold top should be avoided. Personally, I think you should do an amber top. Aim for something similar in finish as an amber 1959. A lot of people think a 1959 Les Paul Burst was a sunburst but most of...
We all have our threshold for what we want and what we're willing to pay for it. That's really half of the equation in determining what a thing is worth. The other half is what the seller is willing to take in order to part with that thing. When both sides reach a number that each is...
The Telecaster was nearly perfect when it was introduced as the "Broadcaster" in 1950. The only thing that needed to be done to perfect it was a truss rod adjustment at the headstock, modernizing the pickup wiring and changing to fully adjustable saddles.
But I've played a flying V and they...
The speaker is ribbed for your pleasure. I LOVE 6V6 tubes. They're my favorite. I can't say my hearing is good enough to be able to tell you the difference between a 6973 and a 6V6.
I have an amp made by a small builder in Chico, CA. It's that little mofo down at the bottom, a Monkeymatic "Lassen". It's based off a Supro 1624. Just a volume and tone and that's it. He's still makes the Lassen amp but not with 6973s.
That's hot. You forgot to mention the power tubes are 6973. Those are killer tubes and NOS ones are relatively still affordable. Even EH 6973s are around $35 each. I have an amp that uses them and I love it.
Thanks. It was driving me crazy, lol.
Well, that's ALL electric guitars. I'm assuming they get a whole lot started and a whole lot gets to the stamping process in one day. Just like what you're saying.
It's correct. It's a 2012. I just quoted a piece of another site that explains serial number from 2005 to 2014.
Edit: Okay, I found the info I was asking about. Using my serial number: 128520300... First number and fifth number= 2012. 2nd, 3rd and fourth numbers are the day of the year...
The serial number is 128520300. So the the 285th day of 2012, batch number "0" (production number?) 300th instrument.
"In July 2005 this 8-digit system was updated by adding 1 digit. The 6th digit is now the batch number, and the last 3 digits are the sequence number of the batch. The...
No, I plugged in my serial number and it came back with this:
Your guitar was made at the
Nashville Plant, TN, USA
on October 11th, 2012
Production Number: 0
The last three numbers are 300.
That looks great! The Telecaster was almost perfect when introduced in 1950 (Broadcaster). The few things wrong with it are corrected in your Tele... truss rod adjustment at the headstock and fully adjustable bridge and saddles.
