Modified JMP 50 2204 Master Volume MK2 Probs!

I agree with Damien on the rear-panel switch allowing the switch between 50W and 25W. It makes very little difference in sound and/or volume (to me, anyway). I have a 1980 2203 (100W MV MkII head) which someone modified by outfitting with a metal toggle switch in place of the 4th rear output...

    Foot-switch question regarding physical connections

Thanks. You guys are right. Mentioning that now makes me remember that that's exactly the case. I forgot about that. Also, with that, I realize it makes perfect simple sense too as to why it's designed that way. Doh.. *Note - I'm the guy on your right... :slap: I've just been out of the...

    Foot-switch question regarding physical connections

Howdy y'all.. Buon giorno... Hey yo what's up... (Insert greeting of choice here), I hope it's OK to post this question here since I think it is directly related to my amp. Please let me know if I should go elsewhere with it. With that.. It seems I may be lacking in the ability to explain...

    Vintage 1970s Marshall 1982a 4x12 Cabinet 77, 78, 79

Dammit. I'm in north NJ and just now spotted the ad. I need exactly that - an old empty cab but in decent condition - preferably both matching A and B but at least A. I repeat: Dammit. And if I may elaborate.. Dangit.. Dagnabbit.. Doggonnit.. Doh!

    FS: Vintage Marshall JMP (UK)

The suffix-letter in the s/n I believe tells you the year it was built. For instance, my 2203 s/n is appended with 'M' which I believe tells me it was built in 1980. If you have an 'L', it would have been manufactured in 1979. Feel free to double check me and let me know if I'm on or off on...

G12T-75 Speakers - Set of 4 for sale

4 G12T-75 16ohm speakers for sale. I'm open to selling them in pairs if you don't need all 4. All work fine. I'm only interested in selling them because I prefer to try something different. (These aren't the same speakers posted by Adrian. Different set). I also posted an ad last week...

    Hello from yet another noobie-minion

Good morning everyone. I already submitted a couple of posts scattered about but wanted to officially jump into the Marshall mud-puddle and say Hi/Cheers/Bon Giorno/Aloha/Guten Tag/whatever applies. I'm just your typical bedroom-playing daydreamer and occasional basement jammer whose alter-ego...

Cabinet Repair / Reconditioning (northeastern NJ)

You know I think with all the stumbles and upsets along the way in the many years of just trying to find a cab that I'd be happy with, the frustration over time subconsciously made my mind remember the one I currently have to be much worse in condition than it really is. I pulled it out of the...

    1980 Cabinet Appearance Question

Thanks guys. You gave some great answers and related input. Ken and Soundboy, you both deserve a dollar in the community tip jar for the info. Much appreciated. I'm printing this out and keeping it in my pocket for reference. Based on the collective input here, I'm probably going to rough...

Cabinet Repair / Reconditioning (northeastern NJ)

You know I think you're right. Just perusing the internet throughout this morning and I see that it actually isn't some oddball handyman home-made job like I first suspected right off the bat. It's a JCM 800 Lead 1960A 4x12 with s/n 27779 and based on various things I've been reading/seeing...

    1980 Cabinet Appearance Question

Happy Sunday morning everyone, Question: Let's just say it was Spring of 1980 and I just bought a brand new 2203 ('M' suffix in the serial # which denotes year 1980) and I also bought a brand new matching pair of A and B cabs to go with it. What exactly would the cabs look like in regard to...

Cabinet Repair / Reconditioning (northeastern NJ)

Thanks very much for the replies everyone. Pedecamp - I normally wouldn't mind doing it myself but time isn't generous to me anymore with a wife, 2 very little ones, a mortgage, house maintenence, etc, etc, and more etc. The fact that I'm also recently unemployed and need to spend the time...
