Thanks for checking it out all! Yeah, the venue in the vid is a great summer gig, my favorite actually. The crowd is the most responsive to the type of music we play, more so than any other gig & the Botanical Gardens make for an awesome vibe when the weather is nice!
This was from our bands first gig this summer and my first using the DSL 50. If you read any of my other posts awhile back, this is one of three Marshall amps that bought over the winter and my first time back to Marshall in a very long time. It's doing pretty well for me so far this gig season...
I'm not a combo guy at all but I decided to get something that was easily portable for rehearsals and picked up this 2001 DSL 401 on Craigslist for a decent price.
This thing Screams!:shred:
I've gone from Zero Marshall Amps for many years to now owning Three Marshall Amps in the last few...
Here's a recent demo I made for myself to hear the difference in some of my pedals. Personally I like the sound of the amp by itself best and either the FD2 or OCD for a bit more gain for faster runs, leads, etc.

Been using a Fulldrive 2 as my go-to boost/od since the mid 90's. Tried numerous other pedals over the years and still have an SD-1, BB PRe, OCD, etc, but nothing compares to the clarity and feel of the FD2 for me. I've used it with Marshalls, Boogies, Diezels, Bogners, Blackstars, Egnaters...
The Shiva was a great amp. I only sold it because the way I liked it dialed in was so similar to a patch on my Triaxis rig that it was redundant. It was also a 1 trick pony dialed in that way and the Triaxis was much more versatile in covering everything from classic country to hard rock in the...
Thanks man, yeah that's kind of what I'm going for, trying to dial-in a Marshall rig to use at some outdoor band events next summer.
I'm new to modern day Marshalls & to be honest it's a huge difference from what I'm used to in the higher gain department. I'm coming from Mesa, Diezel, and...
I've been futzing around with my Marshall amps and discovered a tone I really like in my Vintage Modern by using a Presonus 3 band parametric EQ in the Loop. I basically dumped the 3k and it warmed up the gain of the amp to a tone that is nicer to my ears...
Wow! Thanks DPTONES!
Damn, Ozzk, that vid is AMAZING! Thanks for posting it! :hbang:
The wife is out today so I've been cranking the DSL50 & trying to learn my way around it also! So far I think it's a BADASS amp as well!
A quick mic'd demo clip of the VM at super low volumes boosted with a Marshall Guv'nor Plus pedal to compensate.

First of all, Merry Christmas Everybody!
To answer your question Msharkey, I'm really liking the VM so far! I agree that it sounds best at volume, but I've gotten some decent lower volume tones boosting it with pedals. I don't really have any proper clips with what you're asking but I...
I go from zero Marshall's for a few decades to two Marshalls in less than a week!
I already posted about the VM, but today I got a smokin deal on a JCM2000 DSL 50 at a local second hand store! This thing sounds great! Each does it a little different & compliment one another well! :hbang:
Thanks all for the welcome!
I've had the 2466 VM for a few days now and have been experimenting with various setups. There are things I love about this amp and things I don't. My ears are not used to the modern marshall high gain so that's the area I've been working on with the VM. I've got...
Agreed! Kossoff had it ALL! :hbang:
Not a true cover as I'm just doing my own thing, but here's a clip of the band I'm in doing some Free at an event last summer. Koss was definitely an influence for me and is one of the main reasons I'm a Les Paul guy!

Howdy All! New to the forum and new Marshall owner after a very long time being away. Here's the introduction I posted at the Marshall Roadhouse. I later remembered that there was an inconsistency about the 25yr part because I did own and use a JMP-1 EL34 100/100 for about a year in the late...
