Aren't the ladies in Metallica kind of old to be still putting out crappy music?

Well like everything else it’s a personal taste thing…

Looking for new amp! MG250DFX Vs. MG100DFX

Agreed - my MG100 driving an external 2x12 4ohm cab with Vintage 30s is a completely different animal to how it sounds driving its internal speaker (poor tone IMO)

    DSL100 - advice

Hi all I've been using solid state Marshall for the past 3 yrs or so - generally I'm happy with the MG100's versatility. While the lead tone on the MG is obviously not ever going to be as great as a top end tube amp, it is decent enough for what it is and fine for the sort of gigs I do. Also...

    JTM30 DI out sound?

The sweetest sound bar none I ever got out of any Marshall was a JTM30 running flat out through a PB100. A thing of beauty!

    A few questions MG100HDFX

That about says it all. I actually traded down from a DSL100 to an MG becaue I preferred the way the MG sounded. Its a very versatile amp. I'd recommend a compressor to allow you get a good level on the clean channel.

    Modded Ds1 V/s Vox Satchurator

I've found the Satch pedal can get you in the Satch tone ballpark as a recording preamp - run it through a cab emulator and its pretty good into a PC as a practice / redcording setup. Doesn't really push my boat out using it through my amp in a live situation. The gain channel on my...

    looking for a pedalboard

I had a flight case board custom build back when I was a real road warrior - solid as a brick shithouse. It was real neat with foam cut outs for the pedals I had back then. As the years rolled on I started using different pedals and the original cutouts are long since gone. It looks like crap...

    Satchurator

Nope - 'fraid not, If I can't get it to work on the amp I have, I'll shelve it for use in home practice/recording only. I'm happy with the MG100 amps I have (believe it or not!) - I've no plans to change the amp to suit the pedal.... I recorded a few bars of "One Big Rush" with it through...

Def Leppard. How do I get there?

Hi Joshua I wouldn't get too caught up in the stereo rig idea - you should be fine in mono For Dep Lep - If you have a decent chorus and delay in your fx loop, thats most of what you'll need. If you don;t have an o/d box, see what you can get from the amp on a mild OD setting. I...

Def Leppard. How do I get there?

As a by the way - the band I was in played support to Def Leppard in 1986 during their pre-Donington warm up tour. Phil Collen is a really good role model - great tone, great mind, and all round nice guy. See attachment - this is my stereo rig. For Def Lepp tone.... Keep it relatively...

Valve nearing its end of life?

    took out 2 power tubes.......

+1 Bad idea...... Preferably try a power brake or some other type of attenuator ? The sweetest tone I ever got from a Marshall was running a JTM30 flat out into a power brake.....
