Thanks. I see. I’ve been thinking about splitters. That’s the better option.
But the end result of both cabs COULD be 16ohms by connecting the 8ohm parallel and the 32ohm series setup? Does order matter?
Just wanting to understand for the sake of understanding.
(Also, I know I could draw it...
I wasn’t thinking. I got the the original problem solved now. The 2 speakers are in parallel and at 8ohms. However…
I haven’t built the second cab yet. I DONT want the end result of connecting the second 212 cab to be 4ohm. I’d rather have 16ohm. I’m gonna use all 16ohm speakers.
Can this be...
I can’t seem to find a mono 2x12 parallel wiring diagram for dual jacks (for connecting another cab). All I can find on a quick search is diagrams with one jack.
I got the load to read 8ohms already. Just can’t seem to figure out the second jack. I know I’m close.
I’m sure I could fool...
I think I want two creambacks. I got one G12m-65 already. Just waiting on the right deal for another
I got a second greenback and a second cannabis Rex on the way. I’ll see how those work with my various amps.
I definitely considered this. I was actually thought about “Cherry” but red is better
I’m actually in the process of finding places to print custom badges.
I’ve completed another cab build…at least the construction part. Thank you to those who may have helped me along the way. Here’s the link to that thread: https://www.marshallforum.com/threads/another-cab-build-problem-baffle-cutout.124659/page-2#post-2227109
anyhow. It’s a 212. It’s...
Update: I ended up finding some 15/32” birch and replaced the baffle and back panel. I saved the two pieces of MDF for use in another build.
I will eventually try to use the router to rabbet and flush trim the small circle to size. Just to try it. I thought I already had a flush trim bit but...
there seems to be a lot in favor of new baffle. Seems like birch is preferred. The rest is pine. Would changing the back panel and baffle to pine ply be a good option? They are low on birch sheets at the local store. I think 24x24 only. That won’t work.
I would then have an all pine cab for...
I’ve run into another problem in my cab build: I routed the two holes in the baffle but in my haste, I measured one of them an inch too small (left side in photo)
Can I just leave it like it is? If not, I considered these options but I don’t really know:
1. Use the inner circle cutout, place...
Update: I cut a gap into the vertical pieces of the frame. I chose a 45 degree angle to help slide the baffle through. I used a dovetail saw and razor blade but that wasn’t enough. It took using an oscillating tool to get under the piece and through the glue.
For better or worse. Here’s where...
How should I do that? I’m thinking mark the lines, cut down to the panel, maybe razor blade the glue at the edge? And knock it out with a mallet.
would you do it differently?
I’ve started another cab build. I cut and glued the pieces for the panels and frame that the back panel will attach too.
However, I forgot to leave room to insert the baffle through the back. With the added frame, it won’t fit without being that much smaller.
The dimensions are 29.5x19x11.25”...
Thanks for the suggestion. This seems like a good option for me. I would want good instructions. I noticed some companies have kits that purposely don’t come with step by step guides. I get it but I’ll be needing some good instructions. I’ll check these guys out some more
