Let's say you just stumbled upon a legit 59' Burst that had been long forgotten.

Given you had an opportunity to meet :slash: in person,

A. would you bring the Guitar to show him?

B. Would you ask him to sign the guitar for you?

C. Would his signature increase, decrease or not affect the value of the guitar?

Opinions?

A. No, unless he was willing to pay me $150k, then I'd sell it to him.
B. No!
C. I do not think his or anyone's autograph would significantly increase the value of a $150k guitar.

I'd take some pics and show a couple of buddies before I sold it. I could buy a real nice player, pay off my house and generally live more comfy with the ca$h.

I am not a Slash Fan, but I saw a picture of what may be a 58-59 V in a collection of his. You are damned straight that I would bring the guitar to show him. Maybe a trade would be in order :applause:

I also think a pic of Slash playing it may add some appreciation (not necessarily monetary) to the guitar's history. What I would NOT do is have him sign it. A sig from Les Paul himself would do nothing to enhance the value of the guitar and somehow may compromise it. Sometimes 1+1 do not = 3.

Even if it did add value AND IT WOULD NOT, I wouldn't want his sig on it (or any guitar of mine).

I'd take it straight to a Les Paul guitar playing dude like Doug Aldrich and sell it to them at a big discount - under the condition that he PLAY IT and not stash it
BUT: Some dude like that deserves a 59 and would really enjoy it

A burst would never appreciate with a signature.

Now, association with an artist, that's a whole different thing.

If it doesn't go to a museum, I am willing to bet Page's #1 burst will sell for at least 1 mil. Probably one of the most iconic bursts known to man.

That guitar, and if they ever find the beano

I would give it to Warren Haynes.
He has mentioned in many interviews that he was always fighting with himself over whether to buy one or not... Whether the high price was justified or not.

I love gear and guitars as much as the next guy but I think vintage guitars are ridulously over priced.

Like someone mentioned above I would make sure he used it on a daily basis to create beautiful music.
The idea that some Gordon Gekko type suit would have it hanging in a vault depresses the shit out of me.

Why would I?

B. Would you ask him to sign the guitar for you?

You cannot be fvcking serious.

C. Would his signature increase, decrease or not affect the value of the guitar?

Once again, you cannot be fvcking serious.

His daughter will inherit that guitar and I highly doubt it will ever be sold.

But if it hypothetically was, I'd pray that I had won the damned lottery not long before it happened so that I could get in on the bidding.

if it's an original sell it and invest the money, buy a les paul slash sig guitar as well with a SMALL FRACTION of the money you get from the sale, take THAT to him and have him sign it then sell that for 4x the money and buy other stuff you want. WIN.
