Awesome keeper, very hard to replace. Does it play and sound as good as it looks? Beauties like that are so hard to stumble on these days, and pricey when you do.

Yeah, a keeper.

I bought it from a ma & pa music store.

I was offered the Gibson L 20 Koa and a Gibson Centennial L 2.

The owner kept on lowering the price for both.

I think the rent was due.:locked:

I told him I'd think about it.

Well, I did and went back and bought both for a total of $1700.00.

I sold the Centennial L 2 which pretty much made the L 20 Koa free.:naughty:

Your a lucky man Mr. axe, a lucky man. My hat goes off to you. I sure wish I had music stores to look through and find little treasures like this. Those days are gone around here.

With the recent heat wave in BC and Lytton getting wiped off the map I was thinking about this the other day. If there was a fire and I could only grab one, which would it be? I honestly can't decide, they all mean so much to me for various reasons. Hopefully, I never have to make that decision, it's like asking "which child would you save?".

Just one guitar, huh? Without blinking an eyelid; Fender Telecaster. Which/what Telecaster? Difficult. It's got to have 4-way switching for a bit more flexibility, might even go as far as a Texas Special. So, let me get this straight; I'm stranded on a desert island, etc, and get to pick just one guitar? If there's power for the amp and apparently a supply of strings, etc, I presume I can halve a soldering iron and some caps, too, right? Then at least I can change it to the Esquire wiring and back at will, take the tone pot out of the equation when wired like a Tele, etc.

Maybe an equally apt question would be "one amp, which would it be?".

The sheer versatility of some Mesa Boogies (DR, etc) would put them on my list, though I would never consider one under normal circumstances. The VOX AC30 or comparable would be tempting, but I guess I might honestly end up with a Marshall TSL. Again, this is presuming I have a full workbench to fix it when it breaks down...

For an acoustic:

Gibson L 20 Koa.............1 of 30(?)

Rare.

Flamed Koa back and sides; ebony fretboard with LP Custom pearl block inlays; Flower Pot jazzer headstock inlay; pearl sound hole inlays; ebony tipped mini gold Schaller tuning pegs; J 200 depth; Piezo p/u and Creamora 1920's style tobacco finish makes this parlor guitar super rare.

My '76 Destroyer that Gary Brawer routed a Floyd in '84. Repaired neck break, 59/Custom AlNiCo 8 in the bridge. FUTone upgraded block. Never found another guitar its equal, though my '83 "Phil Collen Tribute" comes close.

That is a nice looking V.
How come it says Gibson on the headstock if it really is an Epiphone?

Couldn't be a case of Epiphone SHAME?

FUNNY STORY... I purchased this same model last year. Epiphone. The clown that owned it that turned it into GC, could not have received a lot of cash for it. Price was $499.00 at GC.
That same clown scatched out the inlade Epiphone headstock label with a black sharpie. I was able to remove that mess with rubbing alcohol in minutes. He also went to great lengths to get a Gibson truss rod cover,
and a vintage one at that. Love the guitar, and I have no "Epiphone Shame".
EPIPHONES are great guitars.

Ok, Back to the question at hand.

One guitar.........
Not an easy pick.

First quick thought.....

GIBSON L6-S. I have had this one over 20 years now and it is probably close to 50 years old.
Great tone. Awesome humbuckers wired several different ways using the selector switch.
Maple neck thru constuction. Nice slender start type neck shape on a guitar that owns GIBSON balls.

I would have to claim this to almost be the ultimate guitar.....
