I see a lot of guys hanging their guitar on the wall. I know the music stores do it. Any negative long term effect on the guitar / neck / etc.???

I have had mine hanging for over a year, no ill effects except one...the first time I hung a guitar, which I no longer have, I sorta, kinda....accidentally, missed the stud....held fine for quite awhile, but one day....woops. Guitar didn't break though, but I think its just key to hit those studs.

I always wanted to do that too!

One thing, if you get the cheap hangers they can damage the finish on the guitar where it touch's the hanger. The hangers in question are yellow in colour. I got this info from a friend who owns a music shop.

But you can buy these leather covers for the hanger which stops any damage. Or just buy good hangers.

I used to do it but I quit just because I figured it was a matter of time before something happened to one of them. I got a floor rack and really like it for the accessibility.
