I agree with the posts about Marshall staff treating amp owners well. I have sent various amps to them and even taken one to the factory once. The amps were a '68 plexi 100 watt Super Lead, a '71 200 watt Major and a 4x10 100 Bass Compressor combo from the Club and Country range. Every time, Marshall are very helpful and usually undercharge for parts and labour.
See my amps on youtube at JasonNorthBlues and jasenorthblues.
Also on there are my band videos, where I use my lovely amps to create original music.
Please hear the amps at Blues Boy Kings | BOSTON, UK | Blues / Electric / Original material | Music, Lyrics, Songs, and Videos | ReverbNation and Home - Jason North Blues Band.

Thanks Jim!

This is probably a newer factory tour and is really informative with Mr Phil Wells.

Its interesting to hear when Mr Phil explains what Handwired / PCB board circuits do, and his perception about what Marshall consumers think and why they are building the handwired amps....

Few things Phil mentioned in the video are really interesting

1) He says, both the hand wired and the PCB based amp sounds the same, but some claim they hear a difference.
2) We build these (hand wired) amps as there is market for these amps and as long as we have a market for these we will keep making them.
3) Parts we use for these amps, we ask our dealers who provide these parts, these are modern parts but we ask for covers for these parts to look vintage. and the dealers say, as long as you order enough, we will make it looks whatever you want it to look.
4) Both hand wired and PCB units use the same parts, with a different looking cover on the parts.
5) All of their cabs are made of plywood, 94 percent or so, IIRC.
6) The cables used in YJM, AFD, JVM are Molex connectors, and as far as reliability is concerned these are as reliable if not more reliable than the handwired or PCB based amps.
7) In his view, JVM 410H is more versatile and can be played at really lower volumes than the JCM 800 or other amps, and it can really get the tones the other amps can do as well.

Just mentioning the points i found interesting

Am I the only person that's disappointed in the music playing within the factory in the second set of videos?

I took the tour in 1983 when I was stationed at Upper Heyford. USAF. Bought my stack (2203, 1982A&B) right from the factory in 1982 for 565 pounds ($1028 at the time). Still crankin'. Brought the head in for repair and they said it would be done the next day. They told me to make an appointment next time and they would fix it while I waited. Just missed Richie Blackmore too. Very nice people and great tour. Got to see all the ladies at their solder stations. Anyone see any good shows at the Milton Keynes bowl. I saw Queen, Heart, and Joan Jett there. Lots of Marshalls on stage. Good memories.

Way cool! I watched the one with Paul Marshall all the way through! Will watch the other later! It is lengthy! Very nice! I'm surprized Marshall never made guitars!

I'm halfway through the 47 min part 1 now.
These are the kinds of vids I can watch over and over again.

I have to visit them some time. I have to.
My and my girl are planning on another trip to London. Guess what place I'm planning to go!

Pure Marshall porn!

From this vid I also learned how to fix the covering on my DSL401 with a hair dryer.
I didn't know that!

I want to recover my 1936 cab, i wonder if I stripped all the tolex of it and took it to the factory, if they could just throw it in the assembly line for a new cover! Might be a cheap way to get it done!

That was a nice tour of the factory. Now they need to make a tour of where the new DSL amps are made so I can see where mine was made in Vietnam.
