Old Celestions

Hi i got a cab there a while ago from a local music store its a 1960 A cab with 25 watt G12Hs the guys at celestion said that they were from 1956. i Know they are earlier than marshall but what would it be worth or are they too old to be worth much at all? Have to say they still sound the part. Any feedback well appreciated.

They didnt have 25 watt G1H's in the 50's
maybe you meant 66.

Well thats one of the speakers the other 3 the date code was quite blurred but i think it was 11AA on all of them except for this one, which you can see and the serial numbers, model and power rating are all the same. sorry about the size of the picture, couldnt get it any smaller.

Yea probably 1966

I found they were 68. the reason it was confusing was because they flipped the date codes that year so some were printed wrong.

WOW they are worth some bucks then!

They sound amazing too with the amp up around 6, wouldnt play it any higher thow be hard to find someone to re-cone them.

actualy it isnt hard to find people that can recone
those, some places even sell reconing kits you can do yourself
and others will do it as authorized Reconing dealers for Celestion
