Ah, the best laid plans... Got it put together last night about 11:30. Had to rob screws for the feet as I was out of the right length. No pics were taken as my AC has been crapping out. Came in from work and it was 80°, turned it down to 77° and went to the shop to finish up on the cab. Came back two hours later and it was 81°. Mumble. Luckily it was 65° outside so some of the shop fans were pressed into service.

Gave it a low low low volume test - windows were open and it was midnight. Off to Dallas.

I did, lots of cool stuff, got to see Derek St Holmes & Gary Hoey, Ally Venable and Joanna Connor play. Didn't buy much of anything.

Got the cab apart last night in prep for dyeing and lacquering. Spent a bit wiping down the 'white' parts with acetone to pull off any red tint from the bloodwood.

Then painting a lacquer barrier on the stripes that will stay 'white' and any intersecting red bits. It felt like I painted a 1/4" wide strip 40' long.

Snapped a pic of the Black Label before I pulled the baffle.

Touchups tomorrow and dye, dye dye! on Saturday.

Dyeing started tonight. Wiping didn't work so I'm painting it on 3/8" wide strokes at a time.

Started the last side this morning. Pardon the excessive lighting.

The blue needed a second wash to be somewhat more even - at some point I just gotta say STOP!

Whilst I was perched on a bucket working the front and back insides it was a good time to lacquer the inside.

First spray about four coats per side. It consumes about 80% of the can to go around once.

That inside looks better than the outside of any stock cab

Overnight cure for the lacquer and some 320 grit 'one pass' sanding to level the dust bumps. I ran low on lacquer so I had to run to Lowes to get some and all of the cabinet screws I was low on. The lacquer is now $14.45 a can - yikes. Four years ago it was $9.95 - yep, the economy is good for somebody... Vaguely veiled whine about policies is now over and we return you to the foolishness that is me.

I had some blue bleed through on the white stripes. Since a thorough sand down to bare wood is required, I will forgo it at this point. I may even like the affect at some point. I'll keep reminding myself for the next few years...

10 more minutes then four more coats and barring issues the finishing is done.

Finished! At some point I'll put a black handle on top.

The maple on the head cab have faded a bit.

I smile when I see a cab make an EVM look small.

I'll already been asked what's next. On the crazy design path I've no idea. Hopefully next year I'll start earlier so the finished product can be seen at the show.
