That is mostly true. I know someone that had their home taken away from them and then sued the bank to get it back. They were never in default. Many banks at that time didn't actually have the deed or a record of it because the banks had other banks managing the mortgages. Banks went solvent. Blah blah it must be the homeowners problem. So the bank took it illegally, was in process of selling at auction by the time the lawsuit stopped them. Now they live in a mansion paid for in full by the bank.
