This guy's YT videos pop up now after I watched his version of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters. I like that he plays with attack and dynamics on his nylon strings. I also like Going Home (and Local Hero).
Many other "classic guitarists" playing covers of pop/rock often play very soft, and seem to squeeze in as many advanced techniques as possible.

Led Zeppelin The Lost Sessions BBC 1969 2 disc - clear vinyl
Some of this was from a session, that the BBC accidently recorded over, so they lost the original master tapes. They recorded so much w/ the BBC early on, which is a treat, because they were on fire in their early days. Young, hungry & full of energy...
That's funny, I was just listening to this version.
“One of the greatest moments of my life was standing onstage next to David Bowie while he sang ‘Hurt’ with me. I was outside of myself, thinking, ‘I’m standing onstage next to the most important influence I’ve ever had, and he’s singing a song I wrote in my bedroom.’ It was just an awesome moment.” - Trent Reznor
In a way this video cracks me up. It's like David's just going thru the motions to do the song (he doesn't even need to be there) where as Trent is pouring his heart and soul into it, it's obviously very emotional and personal to him. And as good as Cash's version is, no one can sing it like Trent.
