I remember the first ' road worn ' strat I saw.
Satin finish felt smooth, guitar played well but I didnt plug it in... then I looked at the price tag
Ridiculous
Complete loss of interest in the genre which has only gotten more extreme and frankly, not believable.
Just not my cup-o-tea
But, I do not worry about putting dings or scratches on an instrument that I own. I don't intentionally beat my guitars up, but I don't 'baby's them either but stuff happens.
Guitars are meant to be played,
I'm not the 'hang it on the wall behind glass and admire it' type of guy.
M
My 'problem' is that I don't like it for myself.
And I'm not willing to pay more for someone else to beat up a guitar.
What is "damn odd" about that ?
I watch the psionic guy too, he knows his stuff
Check out the Headfirst Amplification guy
He has a whole series on mods he has done.
Sounds killer ! No pedals, straight into the amp !
I have no problem with used guitars that have wear and tear. That's fine by me.
My problem is with brand new guitars artificially made to look worn and heavily used.
Get a new guitar and play the heck out of it !
I do miss real nitro finishes, yeah, I know you can get them, but I don't want...
Currently rebuilding my '71 ('72 ?) 100 W, MV, Non-Pull Boost. Utah speakers (best I can tell)
Particle board baffle (water damaged) and grill cloth frame (destroyed)
One speaker really buzzes, either warped frame or needs reconed... how to tell ?
Am considering MOD 12-70 if replacement...
