His cab is probably a later one while mine must've been around since the early 90s. I got it together with a 2203 from probably early 84 as it still has vertical Inputs. Some guy owed me some money and gave me that half stack instead. Initially I wanted to sell it. I was more of a combo guy. But...
Hi, all you knowledgeable people out there!
Nothing urgent. Just asking out of pure curiosity. (Well, you never know if it may become important at some point...)
Since 1994 I own a JCM 900 labeled 1960 a cabinet. A couple of years ago the other guitarist in my band got a (seemingly) similar...
Sorry all you folks, someone probably wrote this already. Mathias, when you push
the high input of an 800 you will get more distortion, but not a lot of, if any, volume increase. Although, if you can live with it, the lower you set pre-volume, the more volume boost you get. An EQ-pedal might...

Ibanez LP Custom w. bolt-on neck into my radio/cassette player in 1978. Very soon after that I bought a used Echolette Showstar and a TS 808. The Amp was great but to get the best out of it, you had to crank it up. Neighbours complained about the "noise" from 300 yards away... :scream::naughty:
I played DRs on jams, really liked the rhythm channel with a BD2 in front of it. Never fiddled much with the amp's gain so I can't say anything about that. But I think there's ways to get a fine sound out of it. I 'm used to playing a 2203 and, to my ears, the 900 has the flavor at low gain...
For guitars I've used in public and get payed for it, it's a black 86 Squier ST62 E-Series I bought new. Still gig and record with it, but it's been refretted several times and PU's, electronics and hardware changed, due to wear and tear and other necessities. Only once had the urge for a more...
