    because all they have (right now) is VM and the jvm...I have played a few 1974x (I really love that amp) and a 1959 (it was a bit too breakup much for me) another question how close does the jvm get to nailing the different Marshall tones?

    I guess what I am saying is...what fundelmentally difines an amp is it's sound not the name plate... does it sound like a x then it is an x he is not saying that he want's to call his splawn a marshall but how much can he tonally understand in relationship to other marshalls I say join...

    I think greenbacks are great speakers (have them in my bluesbreaker) but, I do not play high gain stuff... I had a jmp and used vintage 30s with it and it sounded great (but, I really like those vintage 30s)... can't you have both cabs...IMHO...the greenbacks are better for recording and...

    very good advice...I have done this many times in my life...a lot of times I play a guitar in a store and I just think I need to buy it...later I come back with one of my axes and find out that mine is still better...:laugh2:...saved a lot of money by avoiding gut purchases

    (my barley knowledgeable comment would be) out of the three jcm900 because....a lot of my "metal" freinds had thier 800s moded and to my knowledge that is why the 900s came out... and another reason is I liked the 800s the way they were and at the time I played blues rock type stuff...

    yes, I own a (ri) bluesbreaker and I did try out a jvm at gc....the first thing I thought about the JVM was that it was very good but, it did not really nail that jtm5 sound...very close and very usable....I also like the vintage modern alot but the JVM wouyld be my pick between the two that...
