I have been gigging a good part of 40 years now and one thing I learned is to have a backup of everything. Can't say I have had a ton of catastrophic failures, but I'm ready when they do happen. I was just going through my stuff and cataloging it for insurance purposes and started thinking...
That is how I mostly use my Helix LT. Straight to FX return with full amp block. Sounds and feels fantastic and is seamless going from clean to mid to high gains. The Park 75 brt amp has got to be one of the best amp models I have ever run into including other high end units from Fractal and...
Oh we are for sure. I am in the US living in a state where our Governor loves lockdowns because she can freely use any business she wants without the peasants bothering her.
Never stopped gigging during the whole thing. Just switched over to private parties. Back to regular gigs now but people still asking for private gigs.
Yeah their Vintage Overdrive is as good they come for cheapo TS808 clones. Obviously not quite as good as a real one but I was certainly pleasantly surprised when I got one. I mean I own an SD-1 and use it sometimes but I prefer the softer clipping of the TS808 circuit.
I have only ever used a Winged C in a Windsor Studio and it was fantastic. Made a huge difference over the Shuguang that was in it. I typically run with JJ's but someone actually gave me that Winged C brand new.
I have been running JJ's across the board in everything for 20 years now. Had 1 pre-tube fail prematurely on me in that time. Occasionally I will run a Tung Sol 12AT7W if I want the gain to chill a little but other than that, been all JJ's for me.
I have been using Kirlin now for about 10 years for everything. Guitar, PA etc etc. I gig a lot and have had exactly 1 out of the 40 I own, fail on me in that time. They are very affordable too.

What I find with most Chinese OD's is they create a lot of noise in the chain. I wont lie I have a few Chinese pedals but really the only ones I do use are delay's and an EQ.
Ahh yes. The gain vs distortion thing. Lots of folks think high gain is always for brutal metal but not necessarily. Angus and Malcolm Young used tons of gain but not much distortion, especially in the early days. Gain can create distortion sure but they are not mutually exclusive. I really...
I'd say it's the best OD I have ever owned and I have owned many, including some pretty pricey ones. It just hits me right. Any other Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive lovers here?
I had one and loved it so much I sold off my more expensive TC electronics vocal pedals. Then I bought another one so I could have 2 because they are no longer made. I love the heck out of them. Be careful with the plastic encoder knobs. they break easily. Thats the only shortcoming I can think...
I had the head for a spell and IMO it took pedals better than my 76 Twin did. I ran mine through a Mesa 4x12 for band rehearsals and it certainly could punch you in the chest. There's a couple non invasive mods that make these sound better but I honestly don't know why in a technical sense...
Yeah I don't begrudge anyone who have to own British Made Marshalls only, so long as they don't cut me down for loving my DSL's. Typically though some of the ones who own the British Made stuff are convinced that not only are the amps they own superior, but they as people are too because of it...
