I didn't say his site was good, I said he was good.

    Custom guitar builders?

Dean Gatewood is fantastic. He will make it exactly how you want it. His attention to detail is incredible. If I were ready to have a custom built guitar, I would choose Dean every time, hands down. I would guess he is very inexpensive since the last time I was in there, he did a setup and he...

    What pedal to get?

I vote for the Wampler Plexi drive deluxe. I have one as I can't afford a real plexi, but I want that sound. I love it. It is very tunable, meaning you can get where you want to be with a little patience and time with it's settings. And believe me, it won't take long to find a great tone on it...

Power attenuator for Plexy 1969 Super Lead

Yeah I'm not a fan of much modern technology when it comes to guitar. I like the old stuff. But the TAE makes old amps shine the way they were meant to. Pushed to the sweet spot without loss of tone. I got mine for $850 on Reverb. It was a demo. Yeah, they're lacking when it comes to supported...

    KK's Priest

I TOTALLY agree! That tone they had on that album was epic and incredible! Full blown, balls out, Marshall tone. Pushed to the edge of feedback. If you haven't heard this album and you love the Marshall tone, you owe it to yourself to give it a listen. "Green Manalishi!"

Bands, artists, albums without dirt pedals

IMO, if you don't like the sound of your amps distortion and have to have a pedal, you have the wrong amp. I know this won't sit well with others. It's just my opinion. And just like a$$holes...we all have them. To me there is nothing that sounds better than a cranked Marshall. I understand that...

Talk me into or out of selling my amp.

Does the PRS buy depend on the sale of the TSL? If not, then keep the TSL. You will not find a more versatile Marshall. Doesn't feel like home any more? Try some new tubes. Something different. I suggest some NOS winged C's and E! ECC83's.

I was thinking about buying an iron man attenuator

I have a couple of different Webers and they are good, but then I tried the Boss Waza Tube amp expander, and man, it is incredible. I got one that was used as a demo for $800. Check it out.

Haven’t purchased an amp in almost 20 years!

Have you checked out the Friedman BE50? THAT'S what I would get. A little over your budget even used, but man, what TONE(s)! https :// youtu.be/ h_ZbcZtmQRE

    Winged C EL34’s

I bought an old TSL with pre 2000, pre factory closure winged C's. They are the best sounding tubes I've ever used. They are still available at a decent price from Watfordvalves in England. The dude there is excellent to work with too. Brand new, in the box, perfectly matched. And as far as they...
