So I'm borrowing this from a friend for a few gigs, the signed sticker inside dates it 20/8/76, so I guess that that, but I cant seem to find any other examples of this 'LEAD & BASS 50' head. Is it a variant of the 1983 series, and does the serial number throw up any more information or guide...
OK thanks, so single cab - set the amp to 16ohms, hot plate is 16ohms - sorted. And the same for 2 cabs which could work with the 16ohms hotplate too subject to the buffering (I don't know what that means)? But if I had the 8ohm hotplate I'd set the amp to 8 ohms as the 2 cabs are in parallel...
Thanks for the quick reply. Yes the hotplate does have 2 speaker outputs So I guess the question I still have is what the ohm setting on the JTM needs to be if I use only one output from the amp to the hotplate and then the hotplate splits to the 2 cabs. I'm 'guessing' 8ohms on the amp - ie...
So I have some understanding of the usual ohms setting for speakers questions. I read a post here recently about two 2x12's into one output from the JTM45 but my 'query' is a little different. I have a JTM45 and want to run it into two JVMC212 2X12 cabs. Each cab has two 8ohm speakers in series...
Got me thinking, as anyone ever had a image printed on a grill cloth? I was thinking about a Malcolm Young image on my TSL602 grill cloth, or maybe the name of the band I'm in. Is there anyone in the UK done this or knows of someone/company that can do it? Cheers all.
I meant TSL602 of course in the title
So, if I buy a chorus and/or delay and put them in the loop, but obviously want the pedals on my board with the rest, is it just a case of running long cables to and from the loop input/output sockets back to the board or am I missing a trick - tbh I cant...
Looking to get a new rig, TSL 602 has done me well but I'm itching for the best Marshall can offer. So, without going into too much techy detail (as its all subjective of course) what wuld the top 5 holy grail Marshall's be for classic rock tones - usually the amps that newer models like to...
Looks like the mids is where its at then. To answer the earlier question I play with my 602 stacked on top of another matching 2x12 so the 602 itself sits about chest height. I'll also try the effects loop trick too. As one person mentioned above the 602 shares the eq section between crunch and...
OK so I need to trust the lead channel to do its thing. I get what you are saying, so would setting up the cabs and PA in a live arrangement help show how well balanced the mix really is? I just cant see how standing next to your own speaker facing everyone else can help. Of course we will try...
Thanks exactly the sort of advice I need, thanks. Yes its the TSL602 + extension cab gets me up to 4x12. I even replaced the wolverines with V30's a few months ago to brighten things up which is fine, rhythm tones are classic Marshall when I get over 5 on the dial. Just want t resist going...
OK so being new to the whole band experience I'm learning every week about my tone, how it forms part of the overall mix etc etc. However I just cant get something easy to set up (and leave until needed) for my lead breaks. So, 602 with the crunch channel set around 3/4 and the lead set at max...
Some good advice there to try out, I'll see how I go with my Bad Monkey and try and clean things up from there. If that doesn't cut it I may have to borrow an SD-1 off a mate and follow the procedure. Really appreciate comments from all so far.
