HSS 500/250 question???

Before I go an mess something up, I wanted to confirm if this idea has merit:

On my HSS Strat, I currently have my humbucker and 2 Texas Special singles running to a 500K volume pot. I would like to convert my middle tone nob into an isolated volume control for my 2 single coils. this would give me an exclusive 500k volume pot for my Hum, while providing a seperate 250 volume pot for my 2 singles.

Anyone here try this or know why it wouldn't work beautifully?

Seems good to me. If you're isolating the SS vs the HB, then it should be fine. If you ever run them all off one volume pot though, I've used 400 Ohms w/great success.

I don't care for pots that are ineffective until they get down to about 3, like most Les Pauls have.

Its fine. Here are some versions that I worked out.

Strat with two volume controls SSS, HSS & HHH | GuitarNutz 2

But id only recommend it if you acually want two vol controls. If you just want to balance the load on your humbucker, as compared to the single coils, you can do this with a no load tone pot.
