Hi, here's my '78 JMP 2203 and 1960AX cab with 2 Greenbacks and 2 CL80s. I found the head on ebay and rolled the dice. It arrived in perfect condition and is in great shape inside and out. Loud enough to sterilize cattle and brings the old mighty magic in truckloads. :headbanger:Thought you guys might like to see it. (Sorry for the crappy pics, my camera is like 100 years old.)

Here's my other Marshalls, an '84 JCM 800 4010 combo and Vintage Modern 2266 2x12 combo:

Congrats!

How do you find tonewise between the JMP and your JCM800 combo?

fwiw, if you're using the same camera to take all those pics it looks like it's your focus. If you change the range (depth of field) it should improve because I notice some of the guts are sharper.

Hmmm, hard to put into words....they're both great, just completely different.

Ok here's my take on it, with both amps cranked to their sweetest spot:

The JCM800 hits the room like a pissed off, wet gang-banger on meth.

The JMP is like taking a jet engine for a walk on a short leash.

wow, great metaphors although I'm not sure how a wet gang banger would sound different from a dry one!

RED, it sounded great but over the first couple of days it became obvious that the 1960AX cab wasn't going to cut it. It sounded great but I could not open the amp up, not past about 5, before the speakers would started to panic and lose control.

I tried the cab below. It rocks my universe and I have decided to keep it:
