all the artist that I like get their tone by driving the power section really hard... to me preamp distortion only, sounds like a distortion pedal... harsh highs, and no meaty mids.
I still think that it's better to cranked an amp than set it to 1... that's why I use low wattage amps for low...
Be carefull with what people refer to as "low volume". A lot of guys drive their amp at 6-7 so when they play them at 4, they say it's low volume. But 4 is enough to filled a small club without a PA, and it stills insanely loud. Under 3 or 4, my DSL100 doesn't sounds good for drive sounds... the...
Maybe I don't hang around here enough but are you a bass player playing through Marshall guitar amp? Or that was just for sake of experimentation? that is fat for sure!!!:headbanger:
here is a copy paste of what I said lately in an other post, if didn't see it...
hey man, I've been looking for a good practice amp for ages (tiny terror, egnator, nano head, etc...), and the blackstar Ht-5 was a dream come for me. All tubes, effect loop, 2 channels, 5 watts, really good line...
hey man, I've been looking for a good practice amp for ages (tiny terror, egnator, nano head, etc...), and the blackstar Ht-5 was a dream come for me. All tubes, effect loop, 2 channels, 5 watts, really good line out, ISF (which allow you to switch from US (Mesa) tone to a UK (Marshall) tone...
I agree, I'm huge slash fan and this tone is not is best... his live tone on the use for illusion tour was my favorite... cranked jubilee, there you go :dude:
hey guys
I got a new V and there's a lot of crackle coming from of the input jack. I supposed it's the input jack, here are the symptoms
- I hear the crackle when I move without playing (like while taking a beer between 2 songs)
- when I turn off the volume of the guitar it stops
- I...
I'm on the red channel OD1 98% of the time, with half gain... I use my pickup volumes and selector to switch from clean to dirty to lead. Most of the time I have my neck pickup volume on 2 (that's my clean), bridge pu volume at full most of the time (hard rock), or 5 for rock, 3 for classic...
So, did you finally bought it? I've just seen it for sell again this morning, are you reselling it or it's the same guy...? either way I'd like to know if you have tried it, or why you're selling it... thanks!
It's hard for me to understand how it really works... As I understand it's not just like an onboard powerbrake, it reduce the actual voltage running through the amp... but what does that mean?
Does it mean that the power tubes are really cooking as if you were really playing at the crazy...
Hi guys
I've never changed the tubes of my blackstar, after 2 years playing it, I guess new tubes will be nice...
What do you guys suggest? I'd like a tube that sounds a little more bright than the stock tube, cause the only bad thing I can say about this amp is that, on the british side...
I've heard some good players making bad gear sounds good. But I've never heard a bad player souding good through good gear...
So I guess hands are more important.... but good player still need good gear to switch from good to awesome... :hmm:
Alright, I brought it to a good guitar tech today, and after 5 second of nut file work, everything was ok. No buzz, no more poping string... I can calm down now....
I still think that it's a shame that Gibson produce high end expensive guitars with flaws that I never seen on a 150$ guitar...
