loving this thread :)
a week or so? how can you wait? i'm like a kid on Christmas when i get new gear.
speaking of which i just got my Dimebag wah and it's amazing! they shipped
it with a battery which broke the little door during shipping. no biggie.
the 6 way selector pot nut was loose. fixed...
right on with the AC/DC sound! :dude:
the cap job might wake up the thickness. i'd hold off on buyin gear till you've tried it with new caps.
are all your jacks/cables in good shape? i had to bend my speaker jack on
my amp because it sounded thin and low in volume. now it's back sounding ballsy.
a line level loop sounds much better in my opinion. i'll stick with my JCM
i don't really see a need to run an EQ in my loop. i'm happy with it's tone.
i watched some videos on tube screamers and wasn't impressed at all.
some questions i have for you StootMonster...
how old are your filter...
thanks for all the ideas guys
well i have two amps. a 2204 with a line level loop, and a 1W FireFly.
i mostly use the FireFly that simply has a volume knob, and a volume for
the switchable cascade boost.
@Riffraff thanks, i think i'm going wire up a box to bypass the EQ to eliminate...
you guys talk about putting EQ's in loops but what kind of loop?
instrument or line level? make sure you know what kind it is and what
the EQ can handle. my loop is line level and my EQ ( GE-7) can't handle it.
found a Fuzz shootout vid with a three headed fuzz that had two silicon and one germanium transistor.
have no idea how good/bad his pedals are.
Fuzz Pedal Shootout the First (Part 1 of 3)‏ - YouTube
the huckleberry fuzz V2 use a silicon and a germanium transistor. i'm guessing one on the...
well it was my understanding that all the outputs are isolated i.e. separate supplies.
i'm going to check polarity/voltage of any pedals i connect.
i'm considering a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 plus as i see more pedals in my future.
any pedals that work better on batteries vs a power supply?
i own a Turbo Tuner ST-200, boss GE-7 EQ, DOD Classic Fuzz 10v
also own a Crybaby wah, and want a Way Huge Swollen Pickle Fuzz.
those are...
having the mic pointed toward the outer part of the speaker will give you more lows and less highs.
pointing it toward the middle of the cone will give you more highs.
for me with my ZOOM H1 mic, half way out from the center sounded the best.
this is with Gibby 61 RI SG, 1W FireFly/2x12...
ckr1231 did you end up getting an octave pedal? the EH pedals are amazing but you have to pay.
i was looking at the MXR Bass Octave Deluxe. Tim Sult and Jerry Cantrell use it
i'm on the market for some fuzz myself. i like things that are tweakable.
the Way Huge Swollen Pickle mkII caught my eye. check out the video demos.
if it's good enough for Clutch it's good enough for me
listening to demos of the three your looking at, the Wampler and the Fulltone both...
for standard and drop D tuning on my SG, i love DM blue steel regulars (10-46)
for my other guitar i recently switched it to C standard tuning with ghs light top heavy bottoms.
they sound good but i'm still tweaking my amp's tubes and pickup height. :hmm:
the light tops are really easy for...
