    DSL50 Questions / comments

You could try cutting the gain and treble/presence and boosting it with an OD to clean it up.

Best NAD ever! 1987x, great pics & sound clip on page 2!

Could you play some Guns N Roses? I was wondering would this get me Slash's tone. :laugh2: All joking aside, sounds good man.

Why pay so much $ for some one else's tone?

I am split on this. For beginners I think it teaches you how and what things work together and other invaluable lessons. On the other hand, becoming obsessed with trying to exactly replicate something will make you spend more time (and money) tinkering and chasing as opposed to just playing and...

Satriani Marshall and backstabbery on Peavey

If you have ever played a JSX then you would know why he is back with Marshall. The JSX is a lifeless, thin, over compressed POS IMO.

    POLL: AFD or YJM

Tough choice. I believe I would go with the YJM if I was buying personally.

    JCM800 problem any ideas?

Position of the Preamp tubes does not matter. You can mix and match the order and brand.

    JCM800 problem any ideas?

Take one of your older tubes and replace each position with it to see if you have a bum tube. I hate jj's for there reliability.

    Marshall Punch!

VHT Deliverance has massive punch. Splawn Quickrods are pretty punchy, but also very stiff and dry sounding IMO. The Deliverance is also dry and stiff, but not as bad as the QR.

    Modding....mild rant

Meh, no big deal IMO. Different strokes for different folks.

1978 Marshall JMP 50 watt master 2204 Jose High Gain Mod ?

Bray does good work and so does Trace at Voodoo. I have seen the inside of a couple of Jose modded amps and it was pretty ugly. Plus, I think the Jose mod is over rated.

Metal switches means it Canada model and one input means it is a (2205/2210) dual channel. I have never seen a single input 2203 (stock).
