    I could have sworn I read somewhere that these are shipping with JJ tubes now, and mine doesn't at all sound like what Ace is describing. Could it be Marshall made a change? I'd love to be able to add a resonance as well, anyone have insight to that one?

    Back when I was using a JCM900 and in a death metal band in the 90s I did just what Solid State says above. Ibanez RG w/Dimarzio Super Distortion > BOSS SD-1 (level maxed) > JCM900 (gain dialed back/master above 7) > 2 Carvin 412 B cabs = death metal

    We’re down in Corpus and just had one a month ago, so I feel your pain (and moved here from Cypress a few months before Harvey tore through). Hopefully this one won’t do much more than the one we had last month. Either way, stay safe and unplug all your gear.

    Yep, love it. Great tone at low volumes, just like I wanted. Interesting. My grandfather held 150+ vacuum tube patents when he died (he worked for RCA & Westinghouse) but he passed when I was 15 years old. He and I discussed making amps at one point (I was just getting into guitars back then)...

    I tried it through an Orange PPC112. (did also try the Micro Dark through one of those 8 inchers and yeah... no thanks). The bottom end was muddy, the high end fizzy, using a Jackson SL2 with Duncan Distortions in it, but no pedals. For $150 there's nothing wrong with it at all, it just wasn't...
