The hiss is the nature of the beast. If it bothers you too much use a noise suppressor pedal. I use a REVV G8 with my SV with great results. The Boss NS-2 also works well.
Congrats and welcome to the club from another SV20H owner. Has been my main amp since I got it 3 1/2 years ago. I also play it with a 2x12 cab (1966A).
It just dawned on me that it's been about a year since I got my SV20. Still loving what it does :bday::dude::shred:. How about others? Still loving or have you moved on to something else?
Just curious. I don't know much about loops nor what kind of loops Marshall tends to use. What kind effect loops does the Studio series have, series or parallel?
Yup, volume know is your friend. Having a quality volume pot with an even sweep makes this amp very versatile. In some cases, depending on the music that you play, you don't even need a booster.
And yes, this amp is also sensitive to picking and strumming dynamics.
I feel the same way. Except I just turned 48 :cool:. I've had the SV20H since April and it still brings a smile to my face every time I turn it on and strum my first chord:dude:.
