Along with number 1, that would be a good start.
I bought a Rode NT2-A about a year ago; don't like it on my vocals (I seem to bring out a metallic harshness in it!), it is pretty good on a guitar cab though and has a 10db pad so you can give it some abuse. I use an MXL 990 on my vocals which has always worked pretty well (SDC though) and I...
Lead 1:
Volume = 4.5

Played through an Orange 1x12 with a V30 in it.

Not sure if you sorted this out, but the instrument setting near your input on the interface turns it into a Hi-Z input by adding a 10db boost to the signal, so you shouldn't need a DI box.
I have noticed have bassy the green channel is. I love Red 1, the clean and crunch sound good as well, but G on the E string at any volume really shakes my cab.
Nice review @Deep Purple fan, it is how I view the amp. I play mine through an Orange 1x12 with a V30, the stock speaker is not good. Plus, you get a a bit more thump out of a closed back can (as much as you can expect out of a 1x12...).
I used to have a JCM 2000 DSL 100 and this amp gives me...
I normally set up a "Room Bus" in my DAW with a reverb set 100% wet; then insert sends from all the other buses (guitars, vocals, bass etc.), then use the send levels to control the "depth" of the room. Use a high pass filter on an EQ to take some of the boom out of the bus output and then mix...
That is an interesting method, micing guitar cabs can get frustrating. I have had successes and failures.
I think your guitars sound crisp but also have punch, the bass is a little lost in the mix, but you could throw an EQ on it, cut the fundamental frequency of the kick out of your bass...
I will start a thread when I need to; no point cluttering the place up with nonsense. You have on both occasions when I have asked to hear clips, been talking about how you have achieved what others are grasping for - A quick Youtube video or Soundcloud clip could back up your posts. I would...
I cannot get on with the 70/80. I am pretty sure it is broken in now, but I have mainly been playing the amp through an Orange PPC112 with a V30 in it. The 1x12 sounds fuller and more focused. Has anyone here ran the DSL40C through a 4x12 with The standard G12 75 watts in it? I would be...
He used Jubilees, but probably had a few heads combined to get that tone, it is my favourite tone that he has had; caged animal on the bridge pickup and crying on the neck pickup. Amazing. With his rig there are normally quite a few heads so if he has say, four heads running for the dirty tone...
