Sup. I usually just set bass, mid, and treble at mid-point/12 o'clock position/straight up/5, and then let my ears determine the best setting; it's the fastest, easiest, and most reliable way to dial in my stock 410H, especially given various elements in the signal chain (i.e. different speaker...
@mardymarshall210 : sorry you had so much trouble with you amps. I can't speak for the current production of amp since I haven't bought a new Marshall in a very long time, but in my experience the JVM2 and JVM4 series of amp have proven very reliable.
I bought my 410H brand new in 2008...
Mesa-Boogie Road King 2 (with dual rectification) here; love this amp; so many way to customize the sound.
I don't own any of the Marks, but Mark V is great. I also tried the TC100 and TC50-love them, too.
Dual Rec and Triple Rec are also high on my list.
Wow. This news just hitting me now; it flew under my radar all week.
Not much I & most people here can do about it but watch and see what happens next.
If using an EQ anywhere in the signal chain helps, then go for it.
I don't currently use an EQ device, but when I did I always got the best/most effetive results putting it in the effects loop. Believe me, if putting an EQ between the guitar and amp input, too, helped, I would have done that...
@FleshOnGear : I have the Mesa-Boogie Road King 2 head (discontinued years ago) that has several features describing what you are discussing. In the Road King 2, there are two ways to change the output rating: change the power amp section via PROGRESSIVE LINKAGE, and/or changing the amp's...
I have a stock 410H. I mainly use the series/parallel fx loop with my devices. For the last few years, I run either multi-effects systems or rack effects systems in this loop, with the results being very good.
I've used the power amp insert/serial loop in the past in different way, but it just...
French philosopher Jean Baudrillard basically posed the same question, and built a case for it (his book Simulacra And Simulation explores this idea and is the partial basis for the film The Matrix-his book even makes a quick cameo if you look closely).
I'd think that we're getting closer to...
A new JVM205H will cost you on average about $2349 brand new (maybe less if you have a coupon or something, and probably less if you buy it used). I tend to believe the current average price brand new is more a reflection of inflation than anything else.
It's been on the market for more than 10...
Hello.
I've used the Electro-Harmonix 12AX7 preamp tube in my stock JVM410H. At different times, I've used them as a complete set (i.e. in every position at the same time) and mixed in with other brands and types. Both ways gave good results for different tone options, but I ultimately chose...
@OP: I use my amp's built-in effects loop with different systems (e.g. pedals, multi-effects, racks). I usually put things like delay, reverb, chorus, phase, and noise gate in the loop. You can experiment where and in what order to place your effects to give you the best results.
First, play what you like. No need to change things if your current rig gives you what you need/want.
I like the speakers you are using for metal. At various times, I've used those with my JVM410H and my Mesa-Boogie Road King 2. Of the G12T-75, Vintage 30, and G12H-30, I really don't have a...
It sounds like you haven't played through a JVM4 yet. Because they rather price (+$3K brand new for most dealers), I suggest you play one in person. "Flexibility," as you mentioned, is one thing, but the tone will also be a factor. Because there's a wide range of tones in JVM4 amps, it's good to...
