I tried out a lot of different speaker/cab combinations before I settled on the Austin Speaker Works KTS-60 and their cabinet. It sounds so killer with the JCM-1 or my Class 5... Great "marshally" sounds to die for...
Still loving the guitar... Glad things are finally working out for you with your gear... BTW, I think I lost a few brain cells reading through the thread... Lol...
I see the supercharger there, holy CRAZY!!! Was that originally a 6.1 or 6.4L? I'm assuming someone made it a 426. Who is doing that? I haven't kept up with modern mopars in a couple of years...
I posted the quote below back when the amp was being built... It looks like the self proclaimed amp genius hasn't learned a damn thing...
Time to fess up, Billy... you're not an amp builder or designer... you're a thief and a fraud. You potentially put people's lives in danger and you don't...
I use my JCM-1H on low power mode all the time since I live in an apartment. I can get killer early 80's Priest/Maiden/etc... tones with no problem in "standard-non Jubilee" mode...
I have heard a few people complain about the lack of low end of the amp... I have had no issues at all... In...
I'm a bit let down as well...
I guess a Jimi stack is "ok"... yawn...
Seriously... cool find... the music store in my hometown had one and I always thought it would be cool to own it but never had the $$$...
Congrats, dude...
I think they're gonna be $999... Here's a new demo I just stumbled on... I'm drooling for one big time!!!
Suhr Corso amplifier, demo by Pete Thorn - YouTube
I think I know what my next amp will be...
Handmade in the USA and I'm sure built like a tank if it's like any of the other amps that Suhr puts out...
SUHR CORSO
Hey Steve... Unless you need the cash, I wouldn't sell the C5... I thought I would never touch mine again after I bought the JCM-1 head... I came back to it just for kicks months later and it's got a killer tone and feel that the other amp just doesn't have. I dig it for it's uniqueness and...
I don't need an overdrive pedal to get killer Priest tones... I just plug straight in and dime the gain and volume and I'm there... I play along to the US Festival '83 and Priest Live and it nails the tone...
That is completely wrong...
The standby switch is for switching between 5w and 1w due to the fact that it switches the EL34 from pentode to triode mode.
It's VERY necessary...
In some ways, I like the tone of my C5 with od pedal better than my JCM... it's more unique sounding than the JCM, that's for sure... I'm not dogging on the JCM because I love it playing along with other people's stuff... aka guitar karaoke... when I want to mess with original ideas for my...
1w vs. 100w
Different strokes for different folks...
If I was still playing in a band, I would own either a YJM, AFD, or a Satch model...
Since I don't, a C5, 1w anniversary, or a SL-5 fits my needs just fine living in an apartment...
Yes, I understand two of the "big boy" amps mentioned...
I put an I63 series Mullard in V1 and a Sylvania long black plate military spec in V2 in my JCM-1... The best way to describe the difference is it sounds more broken in and it's been in a smoky bar for the last 30 years... that's a good thing...
I am digging the idea of this amp a lot but wish it had no association with Slash so the amp could stand on it's own merit...
I don't need the Slash Scrotum Scrubbers opinion and input...
Wow...
I think there needs to be an IQ test before being allowed to post in threads...
After reading a few pages, I remember why I stay out of the little kiddie Slash scrotum lick threads... PLUS... I feel kinda weird seeing people posting from their Mom's basement while I'm "taking care"...
