Load box when using line out on TSL60?

Hi I sometimes use my TSL60 for some recording at home using the XLR output in the back. But since the amp still needs to be fully powered on (not on standby) for the direct out to work, I guess I need to have some load on the speaker cable from the amp. I always have the master volume on 0...

TSL60 Head: flaws, upgrade and setting advice please

One big weakness or flaw with the amp is the construction of the footswitch input. The DIN tends to get intermittent connection failures. My amp has this issue, and from what I heard, it's quite common. What happens is that if you ever putt on the cable in an angle, for example if you trip or...

Playing valve amp with headphone..how can be done?

Not familiar with the haze, but on the TSL60 there's a XLR out. I plug that into my mixer and plug headphones into that. It actually sounds great!

    Tsl tribe

I regularly gig my TSL60 together with my old AX 4x12 cab and Gibson les paul p90. I can never get enough of that sound. To me it's perfect. Miced up through the PA is just a big awesome wall of sound.

Marshall Class 5, TS-9 Tube Screamer, more soon!

Can the Class 5 run on both 110V and 220V? Is it changeable? I'm in Europe, but I have a shipping proxy thingy I use in the US so you won't have to ship internationally. But if it's 100V only I'm afraid I'm out :)

    The Marshal Forum "Marshall Museum"

I'll contribute with my vastly rare TSL60 head, 1980:s 1960A cab and a 1980:s Shredmaster pedal for good measure :)

Am I the only one who sets marshalls clean and uses pedals

I only use 2 pedals atm. Dunlop Crybaby and TC electronics polytune. All the tones comes from my TSL60. I usually only play the lead channel, and roll off volume for more clean tones. If I want crystal clean I go to the clean channel. But that is rare.

Do all amps sound bad when used with headphones?

At home I use my TSL60 with its direct line out (XLR), into my mixer and then via USB into my computer etc. I get acceptable sound that way. But it still can't compare to unleashing it through the 4x12.

    marshall TSL mods

The lead channel sounds very awesome with a lower out put pickup like a P90, and roll off guitar volume for perfection. That's how I gig. LP with p90s into lead channel of TSL60, no ODs.

Dating my cab ( no not romantically ;) )

Thanks for your reply. I was beginning to suspect that it had been re-clothed after I looked through the vintage cab excel sheet. Im not too bummed. I knew it wasn't an AX when I bought it. And I got it pretty cheap. Still happy with it :)

Dating my cab ( no not romantically ;) )

I opened up my cab today to see if it could help me decide how old it is. Looks like 2 speakers have been replaced, and when looking at the date codes that was confirmed. 2 speakers had the date code for 2005, and 2 had the date code for 1990. If I have interpreted the codes correctly. (09MQ...

Class 5 through a 4x12 cab or go bigger?

A half stack is the way to go for gigging. Looks awesome, feels awesome, sounds awesome. You can get some really nice deals on used gear. If you want a huge range of tones the JMD (as mentioned is great). But I'm guessing you really don't need a lot of bells and whistles since you have the...

New Cab Day! Nice vintage-y Marshall 412

    tsl dead

Ouch that sucks. I'm always nervous when sound guys tamper with my rig. I have a TSL too btw :) I sorry I can't help you with a cost estimate. But I expect the sound company to foot the bill for you. Best of luck getting it up and running again.

gigging with just a Marshall and a tuner

I have done this for the last couple of months. Guitar -> tuner -> TSL60. Didn't even bother with the Marshall footswitch, just adjusted the gain with my guitar volume. Only using 1 channel on the amp.

    Gibson Les Paul Standard (issue)

Yeah colchar, that's the way i string too. No need to make it more complicated than that.

    Gibson Les Paul Standard (issue)

When you pull on the strings you do not stretch them. You make them wind themselves tighter around the pegs and seats it tighter in the tail piece. Which makes it hold tuning better and faster.
