I just replaced the original 70/80 with a Weber 65watt Silverbell. My god what a difference! Smooth top and bottom but still with punch and chime. Just a lot more present. Sounds awesome!

I have been using the green channel clean with the volume almost all the way up then the gain up to whatever....boosted with my VS Open Road or one of the drive models on my M13....the screamer or chandler tube driver models are my favorites.
Ernie Ball and Dunlop's in 10 guage for my strats, LP and Tele. 9's for my Floyd equipped guitars. Once I run through my Ernies will probably switch exclusively to Dunlops. Even, bright, and last quite nicely.

If it stopped producing sound you need to take it to a techto be checked out. It seems you have some things going on there that can't be fixed or diagnosed on an internet forum. take it to a tech. You will save yourself a lot of time, money, and heartache.
