The JJ E34L's are supposed to be a beefier version of the regular EL34's. So I imagine they would beef up anything, especially things that need beefed up. I never used them myself yet but I have read good things from some members here that like them. So I can only go by that right now...
All my gear has always put a smile on my face. Even back when I first started out in circa 90-91 with an old 80's Kenwood hi-fi stereo receiver with a Rocktek Distortion pedal plugged into the microphone input through a set of 8in floor speakers I made out of some cheap MTX subwoofers with mids...
Try sticking some JJ E34L's in the Origin 20. From what people say they fatten them up and make them sound bigger. They are supposed to give them some of the bottom end back that the smaller watt amps are missing. Would do the same for the Studio series as well. I'll be getting some for mine...
The thing I would like to see most is some new pure analog SS amps that are based on some of their tube heads. Maybe the Studio series in an SS form would be a great start. I think they would sell far more of them than they think if they did them properly. Orange amps already proved it can be...
Is it made out of that soft touch crap where it's plastic but feels kind of soft and velvety? I stopped buying anything plastic that has that soft touch feature many years ago. Anything and everything that had it turned all sticky over the years and there's no getting rid of it. I've never...
I use mine both ways as well. All overdrives are actually distortion pedals made to emulate an overdriven tube amp. They just happen to work great as boosts as well. That's why most full out heavy gain distortion pedals can make great boosts as well. A true straight up boost is a clean boost...
I've been using one of these since they started making them. They work great. I don't think I've ever had a clogged shower/tub drain that wasn't due to a hair clog in over 30+ or so years. I used a hanger and hemostats or needle nose pliers before these came out. After the hair clog comes out I...
If I can get those types of tones with my Origin 20H with just a tube screamer or Rat as a boost the Jubilee should be able to do it easily. Maybe try some JJE34L's, they are supposed to give more bottom end than the EL34's and make these smaller amps sound bigger. I'd personally do that before...
Still only have the one (Origin20H) but moved my man cave to a much smaller room awhile back. Now I have it back in a mini stack configuration again. Pretty slack collection compared to most, but I love it.
Love the Rat, they are extremely versatile and great sounding pedals. Definitely my favorite dirt pedal. I have the newest version Rat 2 and a GFS Brownie classic v2.0 Rat clone that I did the resistor fix on. I like stacking mine with my Ibanez TS7 sometimes.
I buy nothing but CD's anymore. I gave up my 600+ vinyl collection and last 100 or so cassette collection I collected since the 80's about 7 years ago now. I still have a lot more CD's to buy to replace some of what I had on cassette and Vinyl. After many years of collecting and listening to...
Congrats on the cheap score and easy fix. From the pic it looks like a small piece of rogue loose solder. Like some that fell right on the board or other part or something that never made it where it was supposed to go, the stuff looks almost foil like when it does that. Somehow it miraculously...
This goes for all Marshall's for me, not just the Origin's. To be honest IMHO all amps sound sterile without at least a little reverb. I just hate the sound of a dry amp unless you are playing somewhere with a lot of natural reverb/echo. Even then I still love some chorus, delay and flange for...
If you do a lot of traveling and are determined to take a guitar along for just personal entertainment and not for playing gigs then just get a nice small full scale fully functional guitar like a Steinberger Spirit GT. If it's just a short vacation I'd never consider taking a guitar along if...
Did you mean plated in Nickel? They are solid brass usually plated in nickle not brass plated. You can scrape off the nickle and see shiny brass underneath.
I would think it already has a brass block on it. The only ones I ever heard of that doesn't come with a brass block is the FR Special. A lot of people get fooled thinking they aren't brass since Floyd Rose usually has them Nickle plated.
